I have done a terrible job updating the log over the summer. There have been a few personal projects, but mainly work & family have consumed the summer.

One current item of interest is that Ducati is pulling out of WSBK racing. That is strange since just a few years ago, WSBK was nicknamed the Ducati Cup.

The speculation is that with Ducati hiring Valentino Rossi, they are going to focus 100% of the racing effort to Moto GP, and ignore WSBK for a few years.

New laptop

I haven't had any news lately. The winter in the Midwest was pretty long and boring.

I received a new laptop this week, a Asus UL30Vt-A1. I am impressed so far. It advertises a 12hr battery - I doubt I will ever see that. But, it does seem to stay charged well in the 2 days I have used it.

The user interface is very impressive. The keyboard feels good in size, layout, and key stroke. The touchpad is very good for a non-mac. The screen is clear and bright, and 13.3" to me is the just right size.

The computer is speedy, with 4gb of 1066 ram, and a duo core processor, it hasn't struggled with any task yet. The graphics will be interesting to play with. It has both integrated and discrete graphics (512MB) for intense applications or while plugged in.

You can see how thin it is here
